Magnesita currently has a Process Engineer position open in York, PAThis role will provide process engineering support to the minerals production plants through effective troubleshooting of problems, capital project management and identification of throughput and fuel efficiency improvements.


  • Active participant in plant safety process
  • Daily responsibility for the efficient and reliable operation of aggregate crushing, rotary dryers, and rotary kilns.
  • Develop justifications and execute capital projects related to process improvements, equipment replacement, environmental regulations, etc.
  • Support department management in the evaluation, installation and repair of process equipment and refractory
  • Manage and reconcile fuel and finished product inventories
  • Manage the refractory inventory and lining materials for the rotary kilns
  • Develop and maintain process training materials for plant personnel
  • Ensure the manufacturing processes maintain compliance with environmental standards
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with plant operations


  • Graduating Engineers encouraged to apply
  • B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Ceramic Engineering required
  • 3-5 yrs of experience in an Industrial manufacturing environment (cement, lime, aggregate) preferred
  • Experience with rotary kilns, dryers, and/or surface mining desired
  • Capital project development and execution
  • Experience with process control systems including loop tuning
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
  • Ability to safely work in OSHA or MSHA site to include shop or plant environments
  • Capable of safely operating a vehicle in plant or quarry areas
